John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado that specialized in folk music, inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf from Roswell in New Mexico, fell in Love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems inspired numerous people to go to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says the fact that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever to be inducted. Denver is a symbol of the state for all people. In all my travels I've encountered many individuals who do not hail from Colorado. People will beg, "Oh John Denver!" whenever they learn that you're from Colorado. Brown stated. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief time in folk music group comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver realized that it could become a smash hit when he heard an earlier version. After performing the song on stage in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver recorded it just days afterward.
